In the Sicily, with 32.5% of families living in poverty against a national average of 26 percent, the poorest region of Italy. Worse is only Calabria, where the relative poverty rate stood at 32.4 percent. It is disclosed Istat in a recent article on poverty in Italy for the year 2013. According to the study, the number of people below the threshold of well-being, in the island, grew by 2.5% compared to 2012 , rising from 29.6 percent to 32.5. I’m really sad data to the Sicilians who should live only for tourism because their land is beautiful and visited by tourists from around the world. The Caritas centers are fully operational in almost all provinces. But who it is to blame for all this? Regional or Sicilians?

How can Sicily?

How can a region famous throughout the world for its traditional products, for its beaches and crystal clear sea, the Greek and Baroque history and the countless monuments and historical artifacts, to be classified among the poorest in Italy?
